LAST WEEK - we got A LOT done in an exciting week of learning!
- The kiddos dissected squid during our SeaLife Center Assembly on Friday.
- We explored "Perspective" during our Art Specialist lesson on Thursday.
- We finished our Towers STEM lesson part two.
- We have started our States of Matter unit. On Friday we made can implode...it was so great!
- We learned about hyperboles, so when you get a moment, ask your student to give you some examples.
- We have started typing our final drafts to our fictional narrative stories for our States Reports.
- We have also uploaded and started using our Google Drives and student gmail. This is a wonderful resource for a multitude of reasons. The first of which is that you can access all of your student's digital assignments and work at home online if you would like. Just go to gmail.com and type in their email address and password. This is where they will make their Google Slides Presentation for their Biography Book Reports. It is as follows:

A call for volunteers for the reflective tape sew-on Tuesday, November 17th. Starting at the beginning of the day and continuing as long as needed. Volunteers for both sewing and collecting/returning gear. Contact: kstandlestrom@yahoo.com
I have registered the domain and started forwarding the class blog at www.puffinclassblog.com to make things a bit easier to follow. The blog will stay the same, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE ANYTHING. - Bowl Making with Ms. Sherri Wolf - Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2 PM (you're more than welcome to join and make a bowl with your student).
- Alaska Room Field Trip - we just received our date and confirmation. This field trip is paid for by the state and federal grant programs to increase Alaska Native Education Initiatives. The date is Tuesday, December 8, 2015. We will leave at approximately 9:10 am and be back around noon. We need one more parent volunteer for this so please check your calendars. It is a unique and fun trip.

*Please note that Math, Specials, Lunch, and Recess are Intermediate schedules and stay in blocks. At times, curriculum instruction will be shuffled to accommodate different initiatives. For example, Monday 8-24-15, we had a special Pearl Creek Garden Tour at 10:20 am - 10:50 am, so English/Language Arts was moved to the afternoon.
